Bike to Work Day – Thursday, May 10, 2012 You don’t have to be riding to work to participate in Bike to Work Day… you could be pedaling to the store, to a café, to a wine tasting! Sonoma County Bicycle Coalition and partners host Energizer Stations with snacks and giveaways throughout Sonoma County from 6-9 a.m. In the evening, find a Bike Home from Work celebration. Tour of Wine Santa Rosa 2012 – Friday, May 11, 2012, 3pm-9pm D’Argenzio Winery celebrates the return of the Amgen Tour through Santa Rosa with the Tour of Wine 2012 pre-race party. The Tour of Wine 2012 is scheduled two days before the race kicks off in downtown Santa Rosa. The winery will offer complementary tasting of its Levi’s GranFondo Pinot Noir, along with live music with “Hand Me Down”, food, tours and Bocce ball on the Terrazzo. We are family-friendly. |

Team Swift Junior State Criterium Championships – Saturday, May 12, 2012, 8am-4pm Team Swift Junior Development Cycling Program is hosting the Junior State Criterium Championships in Santa Rosa in conjunction with the start of the Amgen Tour of California. Riders the ages of 10-18 will compete in their age categories for the Championship titles. Sonoma Napa Gran Fondo – Saturday, May 12, 2012, 9am Team Garmin-Barracuda will lead out the May 12 Sonoma Napa Gran Fondo the day before the Amgen Tour of California. There are three separate distances available (11 mile, 50 mile, 75 mile). It will be a great weekend to be in northern California with the start of the Amgen Tour of California in Santa Rosa the following day. |

Ride The Finish with Echelon Cycle & Multisport – Sunday, May 13, 2012, 11am The City of Santa Rosa has given Echelon Cycle & Multisport a truly unique opportunity to ride across the Stage 1 Finish Line before the pro’s do! A 35-mile ride following part of the course of the Tour of California Stage 1 culminating with a roll across the official finish line!! – Some challenging terrain, group riding experience required, road bikes only. Breakaway Mile – Sunday, May 13, 2012, 2:30pm Amgen invites patients with cancer, survivors, caregivers and advocates for those impacted by cancer to join the Breakaway Mile in Santa Rosa on May 13, 2012. This celebratory one-mile (approximate) walk crosses the finish line of the Amgen Tour of California Stage 1 course just prior to the professional cyclists. |

Santa Rosa Cycling Club Events – SRCC is a social/recreational organization comprised of cycling enthusiasts with a wide range of abilities and interests. Its purpose is to promote the safe and efficient use of bicycles by staging club rides and cycling events and by maintaining an active presence in the local community through safety programs and political advocacy. Not to mention the Life Style Festival is right here in Courthouse Square, too! Another place to watch downtown is Russian River Brewing Company on Fourth Street. |

Inman Family Wines On Sunday May 13th the Amgen Tour of California, America’s greatest cycling race will be rolling by Inman Family Wines! The peleton will be zooming down Olivet road Sunday morning and you don’t want to miss out on the excitement and action. Matchbox Diner will be serving food out of their truck from fresh local ingredients so that you can stay fueled up to cheer on your favorite rider. Speaking of cheers, you’ll also be able to taste their organically grown wines from the Russian River Valley while enjoying the race. Inman is in the heart of the action and it’s guaranteed to be a great show all in view of the winery! Hours: 11-4pm |
